Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers contain a product called hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally within our bodies and keeps our skin nice and plump and hydrated, but as we get older we stop producing as much. In clinic we use temporary dermal fillers called teosyal these can be used to restore lost volume, uplift the mid face, add volume and shape to the lips, reduce darkness under the eyes, improve the shape of the nose and much more.

Frequently Asked Questions

The procedure takes a relatively short time however if you are having multiple areas treated this can take longer, this will all be discussed with you at your consultation.

Fillers will last anywhere from 4-24 months this will be dependent on the area treatment area for example a lip filler may last 6 to 9 months but a thicker filler that may be used in the cheeks can last up to 24 months. How long the fillers last will also be dependent on if you smoke, drink alcohol, exercise and go in the sun, which all have been known to break down the filler quicker.

With the right practitioner, product and technique yes they can be but as with anything they are not 100% safe and do come with risks and side effects. The most common being swelling and bruising, along with much rarer risks such as infection and skin necrosis. All risks and side effects will be discussed in depth at your consultation.

Pain can be subjective to each individual however we use very fine needles to inject the treatments. With dermal fillers we also use a local anaesthetic cream called emla to numb the areas beforehand. The dermal fillers we use also contain a local anaesthetic which will numb the area as we inject. This will help to make the treatments as comfortable as possible.
